Working with digital agency, POWERSHiFTER, I was hired as Creative Lead and Art Director to assist with ideas for a brand awareness site for Telus's new Fibre Internet service. Telus wanted an interactive and engaging companion site to launch alongside a Western Canadian tour of their physical "Fibre Future Home". The site had multiple goals — it had to showcase Telus as a company leading the future and supporting up-and-coming technologies. The site needed to pique people's interest in Telus Fibre and get them talking about how their own future might benefit from the introduction of ultra high-speed Internet. The site had to be fun and entertaining, yet easy to navigate. Ultimately, it had to encourage potential customers to contact Telus to learn more about Telus Fibre.
Working collaboratively with the team, including writer Ryan Leeson, we came up with the concept of "Imagine the possibilities", a celebration of the current Internet of Things momentum, with a one-page site filled with consumable and shareable bits of content. We scripted and produced six original 9-second Instagram-inspired videos, created an interactive "How Digital Are You?" quiz with illustrated characters, and compiled social media quotes, facts and Telus Fibre story content all into a scalable, mobile-friendly package.
The site included a custom interactive quiz module created to entice users to interact with Telus in a light-hearted way and encourage results-sharing to social media sites to help spread the word about Telus Fibre among friends. Depending on answers given to the quiz questions, users were served with one of four tongue-in-cheek personas based on their level of digital prowess.
We decided to create a series of shareable, video vignettes showcasing fun and forward-thinking ways in which Telus Fibre could power the Internet of Things. Our goal was to highlight how a connected smart home could help make our lives more livable, more entertaining, more helpful, more safe, and ultimately more connected to one another. In record-time, we scripted, storyboarded, shot and edited six 9-second videos to allow potential customers to casually "Imagine the possibilities".
From having to teach a young breakdancer a new trick, to perfectly burning a turkey dinner, to trying to train a cat to attack a feather pillow on cue, our crew had a fun and active 3 day shoot turning our ideas into reality. Here are a few select stills from the finished video vignettes of which I led the art/creative direction and design:

"Turkey Time"

"Break and Enter"
Telus Fibre is already changing the lives of British Columbians in meaningful ways. We wanted to share a few stories with site visitors so they could see real-life examples of how a reliable, ultra-fast communication network can bring untold possibilities to people. The story of Zajac Ranch in Mission BC illustrates how their summer camp for children with chronic and debilitating medical issues are able to access medical professionals from afar, ensuring a fun and safe summer camp experience for all children.
